You can delete your Paraboz account yourself at any time. Deletion cannot be undone, and we ask for your password to confirm it.
From the app
- Open the menu at the top right of the Paraboz app.
- Go to Account.
- Tap Delete my account at the bottom of the page.
- Enter your password and confirm.
From the website
- Sign in at paraboz.com/giris.
- Go to your Account page.
- In the Delete my account section at the bottom, enter your password and confirm.
If you cannot sign in
If you forgot your password, try the password reset page first. If you can no longer reach your email address either, write to [email protected]; once we have confirmed the account is yours, we carry out the deletion within 30 days at the latest.
What is deleted
- Your account record: name, email address, password hash, language and notification preferences.
- Your profile photo — both the record and the file on the server disk.
- Your collection marks (every "owned" and "wanted" entry).
- The messages you sent through the contact form and the replies you received.
- The mobile app's session tokens — you are signed out on every device.
What is kept
Submissions already accepted into the archive stay, but they are no longer tied to you: the member link on the record is severed and the submission becomes anonymous. The reason is this — a published banknote entry is part of the archive; deleting it would leave a hole in the catalogue and everyone looking up that note would lose the record. If you want your submission removed entirely, write to us before deleting your account.
Server logs (IP address, timestamp, requested address) also remain until their 180-day retention expires; that period is the same for every visitor and the entries are not linked to an account.
How long it takes
Deletion from the app or the website is immediate — there is no waiting period and no "recovery window". A request made by email is completed within 30 days at the latest, after we have verified your identity.
